I love parallel compression, but you know what’s even more fun? Adding a ton of plugins to a parallel chain! Lol
In this video I’m going to show you a couple of tricks to help fill out a 2-track. This is a concept I use in mastering quite a bit, but it works similar to parallel compressing a drum bus, a vocal, or anything else where you desire to reduce the dynamic range of a source. Enjoy!

Wow David, thanks for this! I’m astonished by how what you did, quite quickly and easily, just made that stereo mix jump to life. I’ll be honest, for the longest time I’ve been scared of trying parallel processing for some reason, but I’ve really gotten into the concept lately thanks to you and am trying a bit of it out, and it works great!
