An Open Letter. An Apology. A New Commitment.

By November 21, 2025Mixing

An empty piece of paper… A blank canvas… I’ve been staring at this screen far too long trying to figure out how to address a few things that I don’t want to keep inside anymore.

This post is for anyone who I’ve let down. If you’re a friend, a subscriber, a customer, or all of the above… I’m sorry. Call it depression or self-inflicted non-sense… Whatever it is, it’s real. And after speaking to many of you and some of my closest friends, I’m ready to swallow my pride and admit that as much as I wish I had it all together, I don’t. Not even close…

I have two hopes for this brief letter. One is to apologize and ask for your forgiveness if I’ve let you down (you know who you are). The second hope I have is to encourage anyone else who might be struggling with depression or self-doubt. I don’t know exactly what my deal is, but I know that I need people. It’s so easy to lock ourselves up in the studio and focus on our art to the point that it becomes unhealthy. In my case, I’ve struggled to push through the fear of failure. Be it with my tutorials, my courses, or my relationships, I just haven’t lived up to my potential and it’s come to the point where I’m desperate for a change. A change that I’m going to begin right here and now publically.

If I owe you something, know that I’ve made a list of priorities and will be steamrolling through them until every task is completed and all of the wrongs have been made right. I’ve reached out to a few people for some healthy accountability to ensure that positive change is here to stay.

I have a TON of awesome updates coming to David Glenn Recording and The Mix Academy for those of you who are subscribed or are members in TMA. My course Audio For Profit is getting a much-deserved facelift as well with all of the bonus modules being delivered as originally promised.

Lastly, I want to thank those of you who have reached out during this crazy season of life. Life gets intense for all of us and it’s nice to know that we can be there for each other. Your patience, your support, and your loyalty are unmatched.

From my family to yours, thank you and God bless.

    David,
I subscribe to a few online courses to help me improve my production skills. Of all the courses that I’ve used, yours is without a doubt hands-down the best. You are doing a terrific job. I know things get tough… Trust me right now going through a lot of stuff myself… but just remember we’re rooting for you and we’re all hoping the best for you and your family! God be with you brother! And, you are definitely in my prayers.

Don’t forget David you have blessed many people here including my self. Psalm 55:22 say Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. 1 Peter 5 :7 Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. We will continue to pray for you and your family.

Folks who have never had these feelings will never understand, but those of us who have had them do immensely….you are NOT alone, at all! And I will bet that you have not “let down” a fraction of the folks ya think that you have….people are more caring than we give them credit for.

Hang in thee Glen, there IS light at the end of the tunnel!

    David,
I’m not a customer yet, but I will be. How come I’m not a customer yet? Due to my own demons and shortcomings. I too suffer from great depression and health issues. I am often overwhelmed and unable to sit down and focus on things. I’m a spiritual guy, I don’t go to church, or recite bible verses, or even read the Bible regularly. But I am tight with God. Just so you know, when I do speak with God, i’ll add you to my list of persons who have a space in my heart. I will stand next to you, and walk through the miles of sludge we must endure to get through life. David, feel free to drop a line and chat, or vent. Ray
