When I first began contributing to The Pro Audio Files in January of 2014, my goal was simple, I wanted to help diminish the painfully long learning curve required to make it as a mixing engineer. And, to strive to do this for as many people as possible.

While I would love to see you reach overnight success or be able to give you a magic box of tools that will instantly transform your skills to those of my mentor, Dave Pensado… The truth is, that just isn’t going to happen.

However, what I can give you is a promise. A promise that I will do my best in delivering both free and affordable content as often as possible to help you become the mixer, producer and/or artist that you dream of becoming.

85% of the content that I offer is free. That will never change. And to give a shout out to Graham Cochrane of The Recording Revolution, he told me early last year at a seminar here in my hometown of Orlando, Florida: “don’t hold back with the content you release for free”.

I have absolutely taken his advice and the amount of blog posts and videos coming your way this year is almost maddening! 😉

Hi one and all. I have been following David now for about 3 months. I have been mixing around 15+ years. Now you might think after 15 years shouldn’t David be learning from me. In truth we all learn from each other. The best mix engineers in the world did not sit in a studio on their own for 25 years and become great. They went into studios, ran cables for a while, then mix assisted, learnt and move on. Learnt from another and another and slowly this amounts to greatness in this craft. I spent years reading, watching this and that out there, some good, some not so good. But David has done something for you all, for US all. He has gathered all the information into one place. You get to mix the mix with him. His mentor is Dave Pensado who is also mine by the way, so it’s kind of like forking out a little money to sit with a really good mix engineer who is up and coming. If your an amateur and you don’t get on board here, well sadly you may find yourself mixing for a long long time till you catch up and by then the sound will have changed again. It’s 2015 learn to mix and get good at it quickly then grow with the rest of us. All the best - and once again David we thank you! Adam McCarthy Latitude 33 Studio - Sydney

I started a headphone mix with one of your stem projects, I want to see how the mix translates with my previous headphones and then my current ones, then do a once over on my monitors.
